All the books, websites and apps in the world can’t help you learn how to speak English fluently unless and until you genuinely make an effort.

THINK IN ENGLISH

If you think in your native language and then try to speak English, you’ll always have to translate between languages. So the most right approach is to train your brain to think in English.

TALK TO YOURSELF

Whenever you’re at home or alone somewhere else, you can practice your English with your favorite person: YOURSELF

USE A MIRROR

Whenever you can, take a few minutes out of your day to stand in front of a mirror and speak. Choose a topic, set a timer for 2 or 3 minutes and just talk, don’t stop even if you got stuck.

FOCUS ON FLUENCY, NOT GRAMMAR

The more you stop, the less confident you sound; so challenge yourself to speak without stopping or stammering. This might mean that initially when you are working on fluency your sentences won’t be grammatically perfect, and that’s okay.

LEARN & REPEAT

I always advise English learners to read various articles in English & repeat in loud whatever you understood from that.

Listen to English music & sing your favorite song it’ll help you to gain fluency,  improve your pronunciation, learn new words and phrases also develop an understanding of different accents.

Watch English movies to develop your real-time understanding of English as a second language.

BUILD YOUR VOCABULARY

Lack of vocabulary is a big barrier to communication. To improve your vocabulary read, read & read more.

Note all the new words you learn from different sources like blogs, documentaries, textbooks, songs, movies etc.

Group the words you learned & memories them.

You can’t benefit from your vocabulary unless you use all the new words in conversation.

LEARN SPECIFIC ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSE

It’s very important to learn & work on specific kind of English to cater your needs.

For instance, if you are a professional better learn ‘Business English’ & build relevant vocabulary.

If you are a student or planning to take IELTS, TOFEL, CAE, or any other test work on academic vocabulary, read about diverse issues to collect info about different topics.

If you are a public speaker read more about current issues, public affairs etc.
